Challenges worth chasing
Instead of 'complete four classes,' a quest gives a child a themed goal that pulls skills from several domains at once β and ends in one badge that means something.
Pick a quest. Pull skills together. Earn the badge.
Each quest lists its steps, the badge it awards, the XP it adds, and the level a student needs to start. The steps are the curriculum in disguise.

Personal bests, not rankings
Research on gamification is clear: sustained public competition can undermine engagement for children. So we don't rank students against each other β ever.
Personal bests
Each child chases their own previous record, not someone else's.
Crew accomplishments
Cooperative goals like 'North Dallas builders completed 8,921 builds' or 'we built 250 birdhouses for local parks.'
Skill completion
Progress toward individual goals and the next level β visible only to the family.
A quest is how a child decides to come back.
The passport always shows the current quest and the next recommended challenge β so the reason to return is never 'we should sign up again.' It's 'I'm three steps from Mini House Builder.'
