Homeschool student building in the KTA workshop
Texas Education Freedom Accounts

Use your Texas EFA funds at Kids Trades Academy.

For the 2026–27 school year, eligible homeschooled students can be awarded $2,000 annually through Texas Education Freedom Accounts — and approved spending can include educational services, courses, instructional materials, tutoring and approved CTE programs. KTA is building its homeschool offerings to fit squarely inside those categories.

Vendor status

KTA's vendor application is in progress.

Texas accepts vendor and provider applications on a rolling basis. Until KTA and a specific offering are approved, we won't imply that any program is EFA-covered — we'll flip this page the moment that changes.

What accounts cover

A funding stream that fits hands-on learning.

Texas lists a broad set of approved education-related expenses — and specifically includes approved CTE programs. That language maps unusually well onto what KTA already teaches.

Progression with a purpose

From first build to credentialed pathway.

KTA's curriculum is deliberately built to ladder into Texas career and technical education: Architecture & Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation and the technical pathways behind them. An eight-year-old isn't taking CTE — they're starting the habit that gets them there.

Ages 6–8

Discover

Tools, safety, measuring and first builds. Confidence before complexity.

Ages 9–11

Explore

Wood, electricity, plumbing, mechanics and design — one module at a time.

Ages 12–14

Build

Independent builds, diagnostics and engineering challenges.

Ages 15–17

Career Pathways

Our pathways ladder into Texas CTE programs of study and industry credentials.

Progression runs Badge → Skill → Pathway → Credential. Advanced students begin aligning with Texas CTE programs of study, with longer-term alignment to industry-based certifications recognized by the state.
